I was given 5 questions by [personal profile] littlerhymes and I had a lot of fun answering them! I do hope I tagged correctly, though.

I am happy to give questions to anyone who requests them.

1. If you were a kpop idol, what would be your government assigned animal emoji and why?
I would be assigned the little gecko icon, because I am always, always cold, and always looking to tuck up under a warm spot. In group settings, I can be frequently found shoving my feet under anyone near me, because my feet are always cold. Also, I'm not the warmest, personality wise, so I can definitely see them marketing me as a cold-blooded reptile!

2. What is one writing tip that you have found really useful?
Don't let perfection get in your way. Just write it, you can worry about quality later. I will panic over every little sentence, I will tinker with a paragraph, I will fret over if I am writing the characters correctly. I am constantly reminding myself to worry less about the quality and more about finishing.

This is also why you frequently see me post something completely unedited: because 1) once I start working towards perfection, it's hard for me to be happy with ANYTHING I have done, and also because if I work really hard on something and it flops, it just sucks. For example: I wrote the NCT Mafia fic as a joke in a dm. It made us both giggle, and it was fun then. But when I edited it and posted it and it got like, 0 comments...it made me feel absolutely insane.

A brief derail but: the downwards trend on commenting feels really, really bad. I definitely got way more engagement when I started writing fic on Ao3 in 2010 then I do now. It really sucks, and I think it has to do with how common fandom is now, and how many people aren't used to the exchange that was a given in the community.

3. What is your favourite stage play/musical viewing experience?
When I saw Phantom of the Opera. I was six years old. I had NEVER seem a musical in my life. I wasn't even supposed to go to this one. My mom was supposed to go to see it on a date with my Dad. But my little brother got sick, and they couldn't have a babysitter for a sick kid, and the solution was my mom was going to go to see Phantom and I was going to go with her. I was happy enough to go along, but when the show started, I was entranced. When the chandelier crashed down, I think we must have been just under it? We were close. It was the coolest thing I had seen in my entire life. My mom bought the soundtrack. I told her I wanted to see it again, forever. I wanted the performers to dance on the roof of the house.

I can't remember a lot of the details of the show, mostly just the impact it had on me, how in awe I was, how thrilled to see this story play out, how much I loved the music and the dancing and the performance of it all.

Dad was thrilled I loved it, because he hated musicals, and hated theatre, and my Mom loved it, and after that it was clear that I would be my mother's theatre partner and he would never, ever have to go again. (He was wrong on this count, Mom sometimes requires the whole family to go and sometimes he even likes it.)

4. What is your favourite dessert?
Chocolate. Actual chocolate is probably my biggest indulgence, but chocolate cake, cookies and pies are also all good. I plan on stuffing my suitcase with English toffee and chocolate while I am overseas.

5. You can program a 3 movie marathon at your local cinema. What movies will you choose and what is the theme?
The theme is "movies I love that not enough other people love" and we are watching Maleficent, Lesbian Ghostbusters, and what I affectionately call Terminator Mommy Kink. I actually do not know the correct title to these last two. I am booking the small theatre, filling it with everyone I know, and having a party. The subtitles will be on for those who want to watch/focus on the films, there will be food and drinks and comfy chairs, and a good time will be held by all.

It is not a coincidence these are my three favorite movies I cannot watch right now because the DVDs are stuck in my storage unit.

If I could add a fourth movie it would be Jupiter Ascending.

I really love female centric scifi and fantasy.
